Reliable car, My 1998 Mercury Gran Marquis LS This is the 5th one of these cars I have owned. .I buy these cars because of its combination of good performance, good fuel economy for a full size car, dependability,& longevity. My car before this one was a 1996 that has over 350,000 miles on it now and is still in the family & running strong. I bought this 1998 model, in 2003 and it has been my daily driver ever since then. LS model with every option available. Almost everything works perfectly. Most important it starts every morning and never lets me down on the road. A few things don't work and it has minor scrapes & dents (It was involved in minor rear end accidents that damaged both bumpers). Engine & drive train look & perform like new. 23mpg on the highway. 220,000 miles. I check the oil, coolant, battery water , tires at least once a week & always maintain the car. Just had a tuneup & oil change, has a relatively new battery, alternator, brand new a/c compressor . White color ( it looks like a police car ). Kelley Blue Book values this car at $2118 in a private sale. If you want pretty and a perfect body this is not for you. If you want great reliability for little money this is the car for you. A/C needs freon, cruise control and clock don't work but you could drive to NY TOMORROW SAFELY IN THIS CAR. $1800 OBO. Due to unexpected emergency medical costs I must sell this car & several other items this month. Best offer will be accepted by the end of May, maybe immediately if you have cash in hand.
